A Love Story of Flowers and Connection
As Valentine’s Day approaches, I find myself reflecting on what this holiday truly means. For me, it’s not just about flowers and gifts – it’s about bringing people together. Valentine’s Day, in its purest form, connects us all. Partners, friends, classmates, families, and even strangers – we all share in the simple yet powerful expression of affection. It’s about showing up for each other, whether it’s a quick “Happy Valentine’s Day” text or a heartfelt gesture like crafting a heart-shaped wreath together.
As we step into the season of love, I’d like to share a piece of history from my own love story. I met my husband, Jeff, when I was just 20 years old at Wright State University. We both graduated from there, and since that moment, we’ve been inseparable. Over 20 years together—can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday we were starting our journey, and yet, every day, I’m reminded of how lucky I am that Cupid’s arrow found its mark. This year, we’re planning to celebrate our love the weekend after Valentine’s Day (since, as you can imagine, the week itself will be a busy one for me!). I’ve included a few grainy photos from the early days: after graduation, when we lived in Columbus for a year, got engaged in snowy Rye, New York, welcomed our beloved Yogi into our lives, and celebrated Jeff’s graduate school graduation. We even did a few engagement photos with Kortnee before tying the knot. So much has happened since those early days!
If you’re looking for something special to send to someone this Valentine’s Day, I’d love for you to visit my floral shop and find something that speaks to you. And if you’re in the mood to get hands-on, I’ll be hosting a variety of activities around Cincy the week of Valentine’s Day:
Tuesday 2/11: GLBD Cincy – Heart Wreath Workshop
Wednesday 2/12: Patina At Home – Heart Wreath Workshop
Thursday 2/13 : Kendra Scott – Bouquet Bar
Saturday 2/15: The Columns - Heart Wreath Workshop
Thank you, as always, for being a part of this journey. I look forward to celebrating love, connection, and community with you all this season.
XOXO,
Christina
